The Faculty of Humanities and Performing Arts is pleased to invite applications for the permanent position of Head of School for the School of History, Classics and Archaeology.

The Faculty is looking to appoint a suitably qualified individual to have responsibility for the overall leadership and management of the School, and be charged with its day-to-day operations that include curriculum delivery and development, enhancing the student experience, marketing and admissions, quality assurance, and the efficient deployment of resources.

The School is a new collaboration between the School of Classics, and the subject areas of History and Archaeology. A key strategic priority for the post-holder will be increasing student recruitment and income generation via the development of new partnerships, curricula opportunities, commercial activity, involvement in research networks and grant acquisition.

Applications are welcome from individuals with a subject specialism in any of the three main subject areas but are particularly welcome from someone with experience of working in, and/or a research interest in, the broad area of heritage, which might include museums and museology, cultural heritage tourism and management, archives and archive management.

The post is available immediately with the hope the appointee would take up the position in time for the commencement of the new academic year 2016-17.
